Long Haircuts for Oval Faces
The shape of your face determines the type of hairstyle you should flaunt. While curly hair looks great for faces which are long or narrow, the curtly hairstyle is a strict no-no for those who have round shaped faces. So if you have a round shaped face, the best options for long hair are listed below:
- Try the layered look – If you have a round face, then the best bet is to keep the hair straight and below the chin or long. If you have long hair, avoid voluminous hairstyles; you could go for the layered look which makes the ends pf hair uneven and razor thin, thinning down the hair volume in the process. The tapered and uneven or edgy hairstyles will make your face appear elongated.
- Long or side swept bangs – If you have long hair and a round face, you could make the face appear elongated by including bangs on top. Just ensure that the bangs are not short in length; they can also be side swept and appear elongated or even of uneven lengths.
- Avoid short curls – Short, tight curls or those framing the face should be avoided if you have a round face. You could opt for natural looking waves or loose curls. These should ideally be at the end of the hair strands or can appear from the mid length. Curls or waves that are gradual and fall below the shoulder are great for round face as they make the face appear elongated.
- Long bob hairstyle – you could also go for the long bob hairstyle, preferably below the chin or shoulder length. The bob which frames the face in layers and is longer in front than the back is preferred. Also, avoid the blunt cut in bob hairstyle. Go for a more layered or shaggy look.
In general, do not stick to blunt bob or tight curled hair which are not suitable for round face. Long bob, layered look or wavy, loose curls are the right hairstyles to flaunt for round shaped faces.
